Despite the chaos that goes into the making of the fashion show and the behind the scenes, all I know is I want to do that again. Being able to display all of the work my team and I put into our collection was an amazing feeling. Definitely beats just posting on Instagram or Twitter what I created because instead of just a still, people could see the way everything moved in person. Loved the energy and I even kind of thrived off the nervousness filling the room, it only pumped me up more.
Our collection looked great on the runway and here's a pic of us all together.
After modeling the collections, the ones who created an avant garde piece, which includes myself, had to go change really quickly backstage to get right back out there in time. For my avant garde, I knew that I wanted to do a piece that required little to no sewing because I wanted to be able to do the entire thing without having to get up lol. So I created the look by cutting out different widths and lengths of t-shirt, and then weaving them together. No sewing required. I put around 20 hours into the garment and finished it so last minute that I hadn't even tried it on until I had to change into it for the actual fashion show. It fit like a glove and I really love it.
On Friday, we had a photoshoot, even though I don't currently have any of the professional photos from the photographer, I still had Camille and she took some bomb photos of me in my collection piece. All I knew is I wanted the photos to be back lit and yaaassss love.
